Income & Expense Manager Tracking

Your complete guide to managing your business finances within WordPress.

Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Income & Expense Manager Tracking plugin!

This powerful tool is designed to give you a comprehensive overview of your business’s financial health, directly from your WordPress dashboard. By integrating seamlessly with WooCommerce and allowing for manual entry of all income and expenses, you can finally stop guessing and start making data-driven decisions.

This guide will walk you through every feature of the plugin to ensure you get the most out of your purchase.

Installation

Installing the plugin is a simple, standard WordPress process:

  1. Download the final .zip file from your CodeCanyon “Downloads” page.
  2. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
  3. Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
  4. Click the “Upload Plugin” button at the top of the page.
  5. Choose the .zip file you downloaded and click “Install Now”.
  6. Once the installation is complete, click “Activate Plugin”.

Requirement: This plugin requires WooCommerce to be installed and active to function correctly.

License Activation (Important!)

Upon activation, the plugin will require you to enter a valid license to enable its features. This is a one-time process that verifies your purchase and allows you to receive future updates.

You will need two things from your Envato account:

  • Your Purchase Code: Found on your CodeCanyon “Downloads” page.
  • An Envato Personal Token: A secure key that proves you are the owner of the purchase.

How to Generate Your Envato Personal Token

  1. Go to the official Envato API page.
  2. Give your token a name (e.g., “Plugin Activation”).
  3. Under “Permissions”, you **must** check the following two boxes:
    • View and search Envato sites
    • View your purchases of the app creator’s items
  4. Review and agree to the terms, then click “Create Token”.
  5. Copy the generated token immediately and save it somewhere safe. **Envato will not show it to you again.**

Security Note: The Personal Token is much more secure than using your password. It only grants the permissions you select and can be revoked at any time from your Envato account.

Activating the Plugin

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Expense Dashboard > Settings > License.
  2. Paste your **Envato Personal Token** into the first field.
  3. Paste your **Purchase Code** from CodeCanyon into the second field.
  4. Click “Activate License”. That’s it!

The Dashboard

The main dashboard gives you a quick, at-a-glance overview of your business’s financial health. It includes several summary cards:

  • Current Month & Year Overviews: See your total Income, Operational Expenses, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), Wastage Costs, and final Net Profit for the selected period.
  • Account Balances: A live look at the current balance of all your bank and cash accounts.
  • Quick Links: Fast access to all the major management pages of the plugin.

Core Management Pages

This is where you will manage your day-to-day financial data.

  • Expenses: Manually record any business expense, from rent and utilities to marketing and supplies. Assign it to an account, category, and vendor.
  • Income: Record any income that does not come from WooCommerce, such as consulting fees, direct payments, or other revenue streams.
  • Accounts: Create and manage your different financial accounts (e.g., “Main Checking Account”, “Petty Cash”, “Business Credit Card”). Each account has its own currency and tracks its own balance.
  • Categories: Organize your transactions by creating custom income and expense categories.
  • Vendors: Keep a directory of your suppliers and vendors to easily track who you are paying.
  • Payment Methods: Define the ways you pay and get paid (e.g., Cash, Card, Bank Transfer).
  • Wastage: A unique feature for restaurants and product-based businesses to track the cost of spoiled or unsellable goods.

Advanced Analytics

The Analytics page is your hub for visual reports. It provides deeper insights into your financial data with interactive charts:

  • Top Income & Expense Charts: See a pie chart breakdown of your top income sources and expense categories for the current month.
  • Yearly Income vs. Expenses Chart: A beautiful line chart that tracks your total income against your total expenses for each month of the current year, making it easy to spot trends and seasonal changes.

Settings

The settings page allows you to configure the plugin to your specific needs.

  • General Tab: Set your primary business currency and define the start of your financial year for accurate reporting.
  • License Tab: Activate, view, or deactivate your plugin license here.
